Current setup is Comcast gateway xb8 as both modem and router for 1 network and a nest pro WiFi mesh for the second network. Most of our house is on the pro mesh. The gateway was set up because it was the modem and I didn’t know I could turn off the router. The kids and Sarah have migrated to the gateway, mostly, for their gaming needs. But it is not perfect and the nest mesh has always kind of sucked. The primary nest and the gateway are next to each other ( I point that out because I now realize that could be part of the problem). What if I do this: put the gateway in bridge mode, buy a dedicated gaming router (setting up their own dedicated network) for the jackwagons that game all day and run the nest for the rest of the house, separating the gaming router and the nest routers. You think that would improve their gaming performance? I was all set to buy a new WiFi 7 mesh, but after discussing it with Gemini, I don’t think a new mesh will solve the problem. Also: I’m not one of the cool kids that has fiber. I have the fastest ping speed cable internet I can buy
