Which is what's hardest for Aud. He's a little "off" socially and lacks the emotional connection that would drive a kid to visit. He's going to be stationed across the world and out to sea for months at a time. His dad lives in Idaho where my stepson has 5 younger biological brothers, so only 50% of his annual trips home will be to us. It's different when you're divorced parents. We aren't the single home we know kids will return to. His other family will all be living at home for another decade. My kids have moved out and may be with their mom for holidays. It would make more sense for him to visit his dad than us. Plus there's sibling milestones, graduation, etc. Anywho - Aud is facing the reality of not seeing him, and realizing that doing so will require 100% effort on our part. The leach GF is planning on living with him in a few months, and needs to fall the eff back on the sad goodbyes.
