Me: gives hug, "how are you" GF: "better today" Me: "sorry this sucks, but you still have your family and friends. Son will have no one where he's going. He has it much worse. need to support him and not make him feel more awful by losing your shit the whole time." GF: "ok" Me: "If you 2 are choosing to continue your relationship, you'll be together again. Son is never coming back home, this is Aud's forever goodbye. Need to give her and the family space to have their farewells." GF: "I didn't think of that." Me: "I know dummy, you don't think period." Gives hug. "Keep your shit together today and I won't kill you." It apparently worked.
